Abstract

From the 1st of April to the 10th of May 1974, with a sample of 32 young women who are working in a wig factory in Seoul, pulse rate, oral temperature in centigrade, and blood pressure by indirect measurement through mercury sphygmomanomater have been checked at 7 : 00, 11 : 00, 13 : 00, 15 : 00, 19 : 00 and 21 : 00 o¢¥clock.
Using these data, the significance of correlation between vital sign and activities or meals has been tested by using the F-ratio.
Results of the empirical testing of four hypothesis are as follows:
1) During a day, systolic pressure has declined at 15 : 00 no statistically significant difference in blood pressure can be found for the rest of time points.
2) Temperature has shown no significant change during a day, but at 19 00 it reaches the peak of 37¡Æ1¢¥C
3) Pulse rate has continuously declined in the morning and reaches its peak at lunch time, and then continuously declined.
4) Correlation between pulse rate and temperature was found to be non-significant.
